Black Raspberry Crisp Bliss

by on June 29, 2008 in Meal Planning & Recipes

Today I made a masterpiece! Hubby went down the Heritage Trail that runs near here and picked a berry basket full of fresh black raspberries. I did some quick Googling on what I could make out of them and settled on a crisp recipe. I combined elements from several recipes and made my own.

Here are pictures of the berries before I began and the yummy crisp after it was done.

Charity’s Black Raspberry Crisp Bliss

Toss the following together lightly and put into a baking dish:

  • 8 c. clean black raspberries
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. sugar

Then combine the following dry ingredients and cut in the butter:

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 c. butter (2 sticks – room temperature)

Crumble the mixture (it should be lumpy, don’t over mix or blend) over the berries and bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees.

Serve with Cool-Whip or ice cream.

Note: This is a high sugar dish, so be careful if you are a WLS person, or diabetic!
