Ladybugs and Broken TVs

I was planning to write today about looking past my crankiness over all the migrating ladybugs and instead being thankful that the weather is nice enough to be outside, but I suddenly have a bigger issue weighing on me…

Our TV just went kaput! *sigh*

We only paid $125.00 when we got it from a friend a few years ago, but it was an awesome TV, and I am not ready for a new one. I suppose I don’t have much choice.

Hubby was able to hook up an extra 19 inch LCD monitor so we have something we can watch tonight, but we can only watch the downloaded shows in our Windows Media Center, and cannot watch live TV.

Wait a second. This isn’t supposed to be a post filled with complaints! I guess I am thankful that I have a husband smart enough to fix up a work-around so we can still watch TV of some sort if we really get desperate for entertainment. I also am thankful for getting as much use out of this television as we did before it finally kicked the bucket.

And really, it isn’t THAT bad to be without a TV for a little bit. We did cancel our cable last month and have been watching less television overall, so it isn’t like we won’t be able to survive. And really, the only pain involved will be when I go to the store and open the pocketbook to buy the replacement TV. :)
