It’s no secret. I’m a fan of Kroger.
If you’ve been reading my site for long, you might know that I wasn’t always on the Kroger bandwagon, but I have since discovered how awesome their sales and deals can be.
If you don’t have a Kroger in your area, don’t click away just yet!
Kroger has stores all over the country, many under a different name.
Here is a simple guide to determine if you have a Kroger or Kroger-affiliated store in your area, and if it an actual Kroger…what region you fall into.
First, head to the Kroger site and search for your store. You will see a link right near the top center of the page that says “Find a Store”. When you click it there will be a pop-up box where you can enter your zipcode.
On the next page you will see a list of any Kroger stores, or Kroger-affiliated stores for your area.
If you do NOT have a store named Kroger listed, but you do have a store listed, then you have a Kroger-affiliated store.
Here’s an example from my Dad’s hometown:
Some Kroger-affiliated stores, like larger grocery stores as opposed to the Kroger-affiliated convenience markets, have reward cards and sales just like Kroger…but under their own store name. They also carry the Kroger line of products. You can usually follow the sales and deals for Kroger stores on coupon sites, as long as your store participates in the Kroger promotions and sales.
What if I have an actual Kroger store? What is my region?
The reason people with an actual Kroger store want to know their region is because some of the really popular coupon and deal sites are located in specific regions, which may not be their own. Different regions run sales and promotions at slightly different times, so posts you see about great deals might not always be what you can achieve…because of your region!
If you ran the store search I detailed above and a Kroger store turned up, you can find your region in two easy steps:
After you search for your store and a Kroger store appeared in the results, you should see some links to follow… like store details, store directions…and “View Weekly Ad”.
Click the “View Weekly Ad” link.
After you click the “View Weekly Ad” link, the weekly ad should load.
Once the ad loads, look in your browser’s address bar. You will see a long URL for the ad. That is where you can find out your region!
I am in the Central Kroger region. Here’s my URL:
See how it says “krogercentral” as part of the URL? That’s my region!
If I lived in Cincinnati with the zipcode of 45202, the URL would say “krogercincinnati” which is their region.
So, now that you know how to find out if you have a Kroger-affiliated store and what region you are in if you have a Kroger store…check out my favorite site for Kroger deals and steals…
Because I know my region, I know that her deals are posted one week before my region runs them…which gives me the perfect chance to get ready for sales!
